Micha Josef, Kurzform Mịchal, hebräischer Schriftsteller, * Wilna 22. 2. 1828, ✝ ebenda 4. 2. 1852; stand in Verbindung mit den Vertretern der Wissenschaft des Judentums. Er übersetzte Werke von Goethe, H. Heine, Schiller sowie später von Homer, Horaz und Vergil ins Hebräische und gestaltete auch biblische Stoffe (u. a. »Zionslieder«, 1851; »Zionsharfe«, herausgegeben 1870; beide hebräisch), die er mit jüdisch-nationalen Akzenten versah.
